I mentioned in passing the last GKIC London Chapter meeting in this post…
…“[VIDEO] – 3 Headline Templates For Better Response”…
…but I have been a little remiss in not publicising this monthly meeting for marketers more vigorously.
First up a very big “THANK YOU” to David White who is the organiser and moving force behind setting up the London Chapter.
As you might expect, the meeting is primarily for Dan Kennedy GKIC members, although the meeting is open to all.
Amazingly, even though there must be a significant number of GKIC members in the UK, up until now there has been no local chapter where like-minded souls can meet and discuss better direct response marketing and business building (as well as enjoying good company and a few laughs).
The details of the meetings are here…
The meeting usually takes place on the second Tuesday of the month in Central London (see the website for the current venue).
At the meeting yesterday…
…the main topic for discussion (led by David White) was “Positioning For Profit And Growth” and based around the case of a business owner who sells furniture and mattresses to retailers. In essence, he is a middleman or broker and you would think in a vulnerable situation. BUT he has built a very successful business by adding value and training his customers how to sell better and hence make more money.
KEY points…
1. Control how you are perceived and understood by clients and prospects
2. Add value to the relationship. If you’re only about core products and services, you are vulnerable to competition and commoditisation.
Also at the meeting…an insightful presentation on testimonials by Simon Aronowitz (author of “The Untapped Goldmine In Your Business: Testimonial Secrets That Will Skyrocket Your Business”…a fascinating exercise to uncover what prospects really think about your business…and a presentation from myself on “Copy Cosmetics”.
And the meeting is not just about the content. As mentioned, it’s a great opportunity to catch up with other GKIC members, swap notes and discuss business issues in a friendly environment with like-minded people.
The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, October 8. If you’re a GKIC member or simply interested in direct response marketing, why not come along and check things out?
