Welcome to this months “Looking Ahead” feature where we’ll review events, occasions, holidays and anniversaries that you can use in an event-driven marketing promotion or campaign.
Main event is the 2012 Summer Olympics in London which will be in full swing…
…having started on July 27 and running (no pun intended!) until August 12.
Looking at my “home” ground in Australia…

There’s a Bank Holiday in NSW (August 6)…
…and the Royal Queensland Show in Brisbane (August 15).
(Show dates vary across Queensland, so check the details for your local area.)
We’re coming to the end of winter so if you’re planning a spring-related promotion this is a good time to prepare.
