A quick note on yesterday’s (19 November 2013) meeting of the GKIC London Chapter.
Ably hosted by David White as usual, another afternoon of great marketing information, updates and simply the opportunity to chat and swap ideas with like-minded marketers.
David kicked off the afternoon with a tremendous presentation on creating your own info product, what he calls “Timeless, Treasure, Triggers”. In David’s terms that’s a (usually) digital product that can be sold and which forms part of an automatic system for acquiring new clients. And by recording the presentation there and then, David also demonstrated just how easily it can be done.
After the first break, the next session carried the title “Exposed: The Truth About Newspaper And Magazine Advertising”…which was more a demonstration of the power of a certain kind of headline and ad, rather than a description of what was covered. The session was devoted to analysing in depth a somewhat unusual ad that had performed very well. Best described as a “testimonial ad” with some advertorial elements, the audience got a lot out of the session with a number of people seeing some immediate application for their own business.
Then came the second break with the always-great food served up by “The Anthologist” ( great venue for a drink or a casual meal if you’re in that part of the City, near the Bank of England). With a full house, the food disappeared even faster than usual!
In the final session, the first part was an update from Richard Abrahams on the launch of his new book “The Fire Free Work Day”. Richard got inspired a few meetings back to actually make a reality of the book he’d been thinking of writing for the last 20 years. And boy has he taken massive action. He got the book written and used Amazon’s Create Space to become a real, bona-fide published author.
Check out the book at FireFreeWorkDay.com where you can get free download with 10 of Richard’s great tips to get more done, have more fun and take control of your day. Its’ never been easier to publish your own book…as Richard has convincingly shown. And he has BIG plans for a series of books with a related theme.
The meeting finished with a “Hot Seat” featuring business owner Kay Morley who has certainly thrown himself into outrageous GKIC marketing for his window cleaning business “Lions Of London”. If you see a large “chicken” cleaning windows in December around New Malden and Kingston in London, don’t be too alarmed! Kay is actually involved in a very worthwhile charity fundraiser.
So, once again a very worthwhile event. David has decided to schedule one final meeting for the year on 3 December 2013. Details and registration at “GKIC London Next Meeting”. See you there!
