While I was checking out the new series of “Boron Letters 2.0” last week, I noticed another article in the Gary Halbert Newsletter archives titled “Mindset”.
This looks like it might be a draft “from the archives” because Gary’s son Bond has added some notes.
It contains a typical Halbert story with a message…
…plus thoughts on one of Gary’s favourite tactics for boosting response…
…celebrity endorsements.
Now, the typical response of most marketers to the idea of using celebrity endorsements is that they couldn’t possibly get a celebrity to work with them.
Or that it would cost too much.
Halbert’s response?
“It’s Not The Money That’s Stopping You…It’s Your Screwed Up Mind-Set!”
That got me thinking a little about my own exposure to the TV industry and celebrities.
I was surprised when I went to a TV studio to watch a short “infomercial” being filmed for a client.
When you watch TV, it all looks very glamourous and polished, of course.
The reality was very different.
The “studios” were little more than a big warehouse and the sets themselves were pretty basic.
And the people?
Pretty much the same as you and me.
It’s all too easy to create obstacles to success in our own minds.
All too often, these obstacles are illusions.
To quote Gary Halbert…
“It’s all in your head, Bubba…it’s all in your head.”
