Christmas and New Year are clearly the big events in December for marketers to focus on.
In Australia we also have the official first day of summer (December 1st) and the end of the school year.
Elsewhere, there is the usual selection of more “off-beat” holidays listed over at www.BlueMountain.com including…
14 December – DNA Day
16 December – Jane Austen’s Birthday
21 December – Winter Solstice (Northern Hemisphere)
22 December – Summer Solstice (Southern Hemisphere)
(NOTE: The solstice occurs at 23:38 UTC, so the date depends on location)
December also happens to be “Read-A-Book Month”.

Before that, the big event looming on the marketing calendar is, of course, Christmas and New Year. Well worth getting organised if you haven’t already done so. The big retailers have had Christmas merchandise on the shelves for some time already.
Back to November…
