GKIC London Chapter – Meeting 20 October 2015

For various reasons (urgent client work and then being away on holidays) I’ve missed the last two meetings of the GKIC London Chapter. So, it was good to be able to attend the October meeting at our current home “The Happenstance” on Ludgate Hill.

As always, there was a full, informative and inspiring agenda.

The meeting kicked off with a very welcome return visit from Nigel Risner. Nigel is the author of a number of highly-regarded books including “The IMPACT Code”.

GKIC London Chapter – Meeting 21 July 2015

GKIC London David White The July meeting of the GKIC London Chapter took place on 21 July, 2015 at our current home of “The Happenstance” on Ludgate Hill.

David White took the first session titled…

“3 Ways To Avoid Becoming A Commodity And Gaining Price Elasticity”.

Being seen as offering a commodity product or service is…BAD! That’s mainly because in that situation you lack pricing power and have to accept the prevailing market price.

So how do you avoid that. Here are 3 marketing strategies to consider…

The May 2015 meeting of the GKIC London Chapter took place on Tuesday 19th at “The Happenstance” near St. Paul’s in London.

David White kicked off the meeting with a presentation covering…

…”3 Reasons Everybody Should Be An Info-Marketer”.

The BIG point of the presentation is that you don’t have to be an “Info-Marketer” to take advantage of the power of using useful information in your marketing.

Perhaps the most obvious example is the use of a free report to help acquire leads.

Such reports also have the benefit of helping you to position yourself as an expert deserving to be considered as a trusted adviser, rather than as just another salesman.

And your advertising will be seen as more valuable if it offers or contains useful information, rather than simply makes a pitch.

As an aside, great advertising copy will always offer some benefit to the reader as a reward for the time invested in reading the ad.

Great presentation from David with lots of good ideas and an excellent start to the afternoon.

GKIC London Chapter – Meeting 19 November 2014

The November 2014 meeting of the GKIC London Chapter took place on Wednesday (November 19) at a new venue…

…”The Happenstance” on Ludgate Hill, London.

The meeting kicked off with a presentation from guest speaker James Knight about the iMA system. James describes iMA as…

“…an exciting new universal language, designed to maximise connectivity i.e. mutual liking, trust, understanding and respect.

Every one in the world speaks one of four iMA dialects, putting her/him on the same wavelength as 25% of the world’s population. The majority of people, many of whom are important to your success, are on a different wavelength than you.

The universal language of iMA is a simple way of observing and understanding the differences in people, then connecting with them on their wavelength. When this happens communication, trust, understanding, co-operation and sales go up, and stress and tension go down.”

iMA is a typology system and is similar in some respects to some of the better known systems. Where it differs is in the application and the emphasis on building stronger inter-personal connections.

James worked for the Dale Carnegie organisation for many years so he knows a good deal about making the right connections and getting on better with people.

As well as introducing iMA, James talked about the process of personal growth and the idea of “Flow”…that creative state of intense focus and productivity that comes all too rarely for most of us!

Connecting with people to work together effectively is an essential skill, not just in business but in all areas of life. James delivered an insightful and thought-provoking presentation. Simply being aware of the potential differences in the way people communicate can make a big difference and help bring about better results.

GKIC London Chapter – Meeting 21 October 2014

The October meeting of the GKIC London Chapter was held on Tuesday , 21 September at “The Anthologist”.

The aftermath of Hurricane Gonzalo was the cause of the late arrival of our main speaker so there was an unexpected bonus presentation from Moe Nawaz, trusted mentor and strategic advisor to top companies around the world.

Moe kicked off the meeting with an insightful case study featuring a third-world taxi driver to illustrate the value of delivering a memorable (for all the right reasons!) experience to your customers.

After a challenging journey from the south coast, guest speaker Lucy Whittington arrived only slightly late and like a true professional stepped up and launched into her presentation…

…”Find Your THING And Get Famous For It!”.

People like Dan Kennedy make the point that one of the biggest sins in marketing is being…BORING!

Well, Lucy is most certainly not boring and indeed part of her mission is to help you make your marketing INTERESTING by being a “Business Celebrity”.
