Couple of interesting business anniversaries fall in April.
April 15 is “Fast Food Day” as the first McDonald’s franchise restaurant opened on this day in 1955.
And on April 1 in 1778, the dollar sign ($) was invented by Oliver Pollack.

That’s it for this month. Feel free to leave a comment with any other suggestions for events that can be used to build a promotion around.
UPDATE (28 April 2014):
OK, this is a little late to do anything this month but as a reminder for April next year (never too soon to plan ahead!)…
…23 April is “Pay It Forward Day” which is all about…
“…when people will be invited to join a worldwide movement in performing random acts of kindness to 3 or more people and asking those people to do the same. Last year, people in 65 countries took part in Pay it Forward Day and this year, we are hoping to inspire over 3 million acts of kindness.”
Also, although I noted “Shakespeare Day” (April 23), I neglected to note that this year (2014) is recognised as the 450th anniversary of the birth of the Bard.
