Over at John Carlton’s Blog there are a couple of posts that provide an amazing tutorial for copywriters on marketing membership sites and coaching clubs.
In the post titled “Something To Chew On While You Suffer”, John put out a request to those readers who aren’t a member of his “Radio Rant Coaching Club” to let him know why they hadn’t joined.
There were over 30 quite detailed replies. John then covered some of the points that came up in a subsequent post “Further Chewing”.
Both these posts and the comments will repay careful reading by any copywriter for the following reasons.
Firstly, you get a great insight into the typical objections and reasons why someone won’t buy this kind of membership. And the reasons apply to all kinds of membership sites, not just one aimed at copywriters.
One piece of advice often given to copywriters is to read blogs and forums to get better insights into what prospects are thinking and what they are concerned about. This is a great example of the value of doing that.
Secondly, you see John Carlton in action addressing the objections that came up. A number of very useful ideas you can “swipe” to use in your own copy.
So, head on over an have a look. And no, this isn’t a pitch for the club with an affiliate link!
