OK, first up, apologies for the lack of posting this week. I’ve been “on site” with a client and don’t quite have the road warrior thing down pat just yet (plus I was very busy!).
However, got a lot to catch up on including some more movie trailer reviews, news on some great new books on direct response marketing…
…plus some observations on recent online marketing campaign…
…and maybe some thoughts about Michael Jackson.
Today, I want to resume our look at Twitter and I’m going to point you towards an excellent piece…
“The Twitter Manifesto Remix…”
…by Randy Gage.
If you’re not familiar with Randy, he is a personal development expert, speaker and trainer…
…as well as a very astute (and successful) marketer and entrepreneur.
In the “Manifesto”, he covers 11 blunders to avoid on Twitter (my favourite being “The Clueless Marketing Guru”!)…
…plus how to get the best results.
In a nutshell, Twitter is a “micro-blogging” channel. So, in essence, treat it as an extension of your main blog or web site.
This discussion is all about monetizing Twitter so the ultimate aim is to attract people to take a look at what you have to offer.
Twitter is a way of attracting traffic. It’s like article marketing or other forms of social marketing and it’s a platform for you to demonstrate expertise and show how you can add value to a particular audience.
Read the whole thing, it will be well worth your time.
One quick tip in the article (that’s also in the John Ritz course)…
…is a great resource for finding out about what’s going on in the Tweetstream in general and your niche in particular, right NOW.
(No great surprise as I write this that Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett are among the top general topics).

Randy,
You're welcome! As you say, the more people who understand how to use Twitter properly, the better for everyone. And thanks to you for providing such a great resource (and a “must read” blog).
