A little later than usual…apologies…here’s a look at events in June 2011 that you can use as the basis for a promotion or campaign in your marketing.
Here in Australia…
…winter officially arrives on June 1 (although the recent cold snap makes it seem like it’s already here!).
June 6 – Foundation Day (WA)
June 13 – Queen’s Birthday (NSW, QLD, VIC, SA, TAS)
June 22 – Winter Solstice (Southern Hemisphere)
The Queen’s Birthday weekend is usually taken as the start of the skiing season…
…and remember June 30 is the end of the “Financial Year” (so plenty of opportunities for tax-saving type promotions).
Couple of other items…
Melbourne Good Food And Wine Show – June 3-5
Sydney Film Festival – June 8-19
Elsewhere…
In the Northern Hemisphere, it’s summer of course!
June 14 – Flag Day (USA)
June 19 – Father’s Day (USA, Canada, UK)
June 21 – Summer Solstice
Couple of off-beat anniversaries from www.BlueMountain.com…
June 8 – Best Friends Day
June 15 – Smile Power Day
June 23 – Typewriter Day
June 26 – Beautician’s Day
It’s also Donald Trump’s birthday on June 14…
…and on June 16 in 1903, the Ford Motor Company was incorporated. It was Henry Ford’s third attempt to form an automobile company (a success lesson there) and this one held.
If I’ve missed anything of significance…
…or if there’s an occasion you think worth mentioning…
…please leave a comment.
Happy marketing!

Calendar printing is perhaps the most underrated marketing method and yet it’s very effective because people check it everyday. I usually get my calendars printed by SimplePrint and for their 2012 calendar printing I anticipate a new age to calendar marketing.
