If you’ve been involved in online marketing for any length of time, you’ve probably come across certain marketing practices that seem, shall we say, questionable.
They don’t quite seem or “feel” right to you.
I’m talking about things like endless upsell offers and continuity deals that aren’t quite what they seem.
And despite your misgivings, you may have simply accepted them as “How things are done”. After all, “Big Name” internet marketers (and some copywriters) promote these tactics so they must be OK. Right?
Well, if you’ve had some doubts, you are not alone. And now someone has decided to speak out.
Sylvie Fortin, wife and business partner of top copywriter Michel Fortin has had enough of questionable online marketing practices that are not just unethical but are actively damaging the industry.
She has just released the first part of the “Internet Marketing Sins Manifesto” where she takes aim at some of the dubious practices that plague the world of internet marketing.
Now, I have to say, my first reaction was that this is simply another attempt to stir up some controversy as a marketing ploy. However, I have met both Michel and Sylvie in person and more genuine people you couldn’t hope to meet. So, I decided to take a look for myself and discovered that it’s well worth the read.
Not only does it confirm my suspicions about some of the things I’ve seen (one of my “pet peeves” are the seemingly endless “upsells” and “one time offers”) but Sylvie shows the right way you can use popular tactics (such as upsells and continuity). Done correctly, you can still get the “juice” and keep customers happy as well.
The “Internet Marketing Sins Manifesto” is completely free and it’s not part of a ploy to get you to buy anything. Sylvie’s completely selfish reason for releasing the report is to try and put a stop to questionable practices that could cause damage to legitimate and responsible online marketers.
Here’s where to take a look at the “Internet Marketing Sins Manifesto” for yourself.
